Rabaul harbour, in northern New Guinea, was the site of several major strategic attacks during the way, and is thus littered with wrecks of all descriptions.  Local wreck hunter Rod Pierce was good enough to show me a great deal of them during my short visit, and although considered the foremost expert of the wrecks of these waters, there remain many which are still unidentified.
