Million Dollar Point - Luganville, Espiritu Santu, Vanuatu

Million Dollar Point in Vanuatu was the dumping site of a tremendous amount of American jeeps, trucks, bulldozers, and various other machinery that were deemed more cost effective to dispose of rather than transport.  The local people, unable to comprehend the reason behind such senseless and selfish waste, thought that the soldiers had gone mad as they drove the vehicles off a makeshift wharf into the sea.
